Exceptionally rare and fascinating collectors item. Original cover from the Imperial Airways flying boat "Satyrus" G-ABFC which flew from Alexandria on the 3rd March 1933 and owing to a lack of petrol, made a forced landing in a rough sea off the coast at Patrocles, Greece. A radio message to the Phaliron air base was received and the airliner towed in by a trawler. There were no casualties among the 8 passengers and four crew. The mail bags were brought into Athens the next day and the mail forwarded.

The only crash mail which can be identified was the few items addressed to Greece, which bears a Greek air receiving mark to the front and backstamped Athens on the 5th March 1933.

This is one of the four covers known!

Excellent Condition.

The buyer to pay £2 postage from South Africa. Item will be sent using the Ultra Reliable Global AirMail service.

Payment please via Paypal or bank transfer to my UK bank account.

Many thanks.
